The Cottage

Warm, unpretentious,
completely yours

Two doors up from the café, a stroll to the river, a hundred metres to the pub. The kind of location that makes you wonder why you don't come here every year.

Three bedrooms sleep up to seven. The lounge has a wood fire for winter nights and reverse cycle air conditioning when summer arrives — genuinely comfortable all year round. Firewood is available from the local store in town.

Out the back: a large lawn and a proper deck. The sort of outdoor space that turns a morning coffee into an hour, and an hour into the whole afternoon.

Discover Jamieson

These are the places we love.
Found something we missed?
Let us know.

Jamieson sits in a valley most Victorians have never visited — and that's part of what makes it special. The gold fields, the unmarked walking tracks, the gentle pebbly rivers — much of what makes this area worth exploring takes local knowledge to find. These are the spots we send our guests to, built up over years. And the guide keeps growing: every group seems to come back having found something we didn't know about.

History · Gold fields

The valley's gold rush past

Jamieson was a thriving goldfield town in the 1850s. The evidence is still out there if you know where to look.

What the locals actually eat

The pub menu changes seasonally. The café has one table you want. The bakery two towns over is worth the drive.
